News from the CSAPE Project
Save the Children Finland have been leading a two-year EU-funded project: Child Sexual Abuse Preventation and Education. The project consortium consists of partners from Greece, Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, and Iceland. The aim of the project is to prevent child sexual abuse through sexual education and early support to young people who have a sexual interest towards younger children.
The project is organising a hybrid seminar 'From Awareness to Action – Tackling Child Sexual Abuse in Europe through Prevention and Collaboration' in Brussels on the 30th of October 2024. Save the Children Finland warmly welcomes everyone to join the hybrid seminar either on-site in Brussels or via online! Register for the event.
Additionally, the Finnish hotline has produced several new materials for this project, which are available on their website. Most of the materials are in six languages: English, Finnish, Greek, Albanian, Icelandic, and Bosnian.
A few of the English materials include:
- Sexual education material for professionals to use with 5-11 year old children: Evidence based sexual education - training package.
- Listen and Support - Guide for parents and guardians about Children's Sexual Education.
- Brochure for young people: What if you sexual thoughts are directed at children much younger than you?
- Brochure for professionals: How to support a young person with child sexual thoughts?
