Launching Version 3 of the Universal Classification Schema
Universal Classification Schema Version 3 is now available, and marks our most significant stride yet towards a unified, global, language for identifying, categorsing and ultimatley eradicating child sexual exploitation and abuse material (CSEAM). Developed with frontline hotline analysts, law enforcement partners, tech industry leaders and policymakers Version 3 of the Schema offers a common framework that works seamlessly across platforms, jusrisfictions and investigativce workflows.
What makes the Schema unique?
- Harmonised standards: Aligns differing national definitions so data keeps its meaning across borders.
- Less analyst exposure: Clear, machine readable labels shift repetitive reviews to automation, prioritising analyst welfare.
- AI-ready structure: A unified taxonomy powers smarter detection tools and accelerates victim identification.
- Stronger legal footing: Consistent terminology supports admissible evidence and informed legislation worldwide.
Why do we need continous evolution?
Technology and legislation rarely stand still. Breakthroughs in AI vision models, the rapid adoption of end-to-end encryption and new regulatory mandates such as the EU Digital Services Act demand that the tools we use to keep children safe evolve continously. Version 3 emobodies the principle of perpetual evolution, with refined labels, richer metadata fields and clearer definitions that keep pace with tomorrow's digital threats.
