Telefono Azzurro at the International Training Seminar on Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Research

On March 5, 2024, Fondazione Child together with Telefono Azzurro jointly organised two events in Rome focusing on “Perspectives in Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Children” and “Children and War: Risk, Resilience and Recovery” as part of the 17th International Training Seminar on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Research.

The first conference brought together world-renowned experts in child neuropsychiatrics to discuss new frontiers in youth mental health and provide an overview of children's mental health issues including depression and anxiety. It aimed to raise awareness of the critical need to implement tangible and synergised solutions that effectively address the multifaceted needs of children and youth. Additionally, it emphasised the importance of promoting early prevention and intervention strategies through a collaborative, multi-professional approach.

The second conference, held at the Italian Embassy to the Holy See, provided a platform for dialogue between high-level experts on the situation of children and adolescents living in war-affected countries. Strengthening international cooperation and multi-stakeholder partnerships to protect children amid conflict from grave human rights violations and abuse are among the core objectives of Fondazione Child. The conference played a crucial role in stimulating global action and mobilisation to implement concrete initiatives to uphold the best interests of children affected by armed conflicts.

Overall, these events provided an open and inclusive space to discuss progress and various approaches to enhancing children's well-being and access to support to ensure a peaceful and resilient future for all children and youth worldwide.
