Safer Internet Day 2024 was celebrated by the Greek hotline, SafeLine, through events organised by the Greek Safer Internet Centre. This year's events focused on the BIK+ strategy and the Digital Services Act (DSA) which aim to ensure that children are protected, respected and empowered online.


Representatives from 30 schools participated in the main event at the Ministry of Education, Religion and Sports. During the event, various vital informants, such as public figures and local politicians, presented the actions and mission of the Greek Safer Internet Centre. Specifically, the General Secretary of Primary, Secondary and Special Education referred to the priorities set by the Ministry for the development of digital skills, while the representatives of the Cyber Security Authority of the Ministry of Digital Governance referred to the importance of digital literacy so that we can avoid the pitfalls of the internet. The popular Greek actresses Vasso Laskaraki and Vasia Golfinopoulou talked to the students, explaining how they use their social media and what they look out for considering the risks involved.
