Save the Children Finland at Educa
In late January, the Save the Childen Finland Finnish Hotline took part in the Nordic’s largest event for the education and training sector, Educa. The yearly event offers information on the latest developments in the field of education and brings together exhibitors from the public sector, trade unions, organizations, and the private sector. Educa 2020 had 19,338 visitors, many of whom stopped by the SCF desk, where the Finnish Hotline was represented and conducting valuable awareness-raising among the professionals, students, parents, and children at the event.
At Educa, the SCF Finnish Hotline also organised a panel discussion on the topic of prevention of child sexual abuse. Having experts from the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, the Finnish National Agency for Education, the Helsinki Police Department, and The Trade Union of Education in Finland, OAJ, the panel had a lively discussion around how information and knowledge help one act – also in challenging situations – and how we can best protect children.
