SafeLine Greece: 20 Years of Commitment to the Elimination of CSAM

Since April 2003, SafeLine, the Greek Hotline for Illegal Internet Content, has been dedicated to the elimination of online child sexual abuse material (CSAM) safeguarding the rights of minors. As a member of INHOPE since October 2005, SafeLine has been committed to removing photographic and audiovisual material depicting minors' ill-treatment from the internet.

On the occasion of its 20 years of operation, SafeLine has launched a groundbreaking awareness-raising campaign in collaboration with the OFI Crete Football Club, spreading the message that reporting online child sexual abuse material is not only a right but an obligation. The campaign video featuring OFI’s team football players aims to raise awareness about the devastating impact that online CSAM has on the lives of children. The goal is to make everyone aware that behind every image/video of online child sexual abuse is a real child who is revictimised every time this material is viewed. The campaign seeks to encourage everyone to use SafeLine's website to report and help eradicate CSAM from the internet.

OFI Crete FC, with its reputation for reaching out to hard-to-reach communities, proudly supports the campaign. SafeLine and OFI Crete FC have spread the message through their websites and social media channels. By joining forces, SafeLine and OFI Crete FC hope to make the internet a safer place and put an end to the revictimisation of children through online CSAM.
