Jugendschutz.net Presents Annual Report 2023
On August 28,jugendschutz.net
presented its annual report at a joint press conference with the sponsors.
The report highlights potential dangers for children and young people on the internet. It highlights current phenomena and technological developments such as challenges and pranks, generative AI and the increased risks for young people due to their misuse.
Hate speech and extremism are being given new gateways to influence and radicalise young people. This takes place, for example, in virtual game worlds and through the use of AI. The majority of reports and cases still concern sexualized violence against minors. CSAM is still being spread on a very large scale. The review of the reporting channels has shown that the deletion rates following reports from users to the major players are low. The security settings are not sufficiently effective, as age verification is inadequate in most cases.
The annual report presents the comprehensive work of jugendschutz.net. It offers an insight into the daily efforts of the entire jugendschutz.net team.
The report is now also available in English
