International cooperation: KCSC and NCMEC visit Point de Contact

Point de Contact welcomed the Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC), the South Korean regulator as well as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

During the meeting with KCSC fruitful exchanges were held on Franco-Korean cooperation in the fight against illegal content for the protection of children online, with a focus on the fight against intimate content abuse online. A few days later John Shehan (NCMEC) visited Point de Contact to meet with two representatives of the French Police (Central Group for Child Victims) and Mick Moran - honorary member, strategic advisor and former Deputy Director of INTERPOL - responsible for combatting trafficking in persons and the sexual exploitation of children.

These exchanges between founding members of the INHOPE network enhanced the efficiency of tighter Franco-American cooperation in the fight against online sexual exploitation of children, specifically sextortion. The meeting also highlighted the driving role of civil society in supporting authorities at a time of more collaborative digital regulation.
