Finnish Hotline Visits Danish Hotline in Peer-to-Peer Exchange
A representative from the Finnish Hotline had the opportunity to visit the Danish hotline as part of an INHOPE peer-to-peer trip, an invaluable chance to network, learn, and exchange knowledge.
The two-day visit began with a warm welcome at the hotline headquarters in Copenhagen. After introductions and a presentation about the hotline, a tour of the building and hotline room followed, showcasing the cosy space where Danish analysts work in pairs. The Danish Hotline has made impressive strides in staff welfare, offering resources in English that are highly recommended for integration into hotline operations. The visit also included a session dedicated to the SCARt system, which the Finnish Hotline is preparing to implement in the coming months, providing an invaluable opportunity to gain insights from the Danish team’s experience.
Save the Children Denmark and its hotline have achieved significant policy changes in Denmark, particularly concerning sexualized images of children, computer-generated imagery, and everyday pictures used in a sexual context. Their campaign video addressing these issues is highly impactful and worth watching.
The peer-to-peer experience was both rewarding and insightful. The Finnish hotline extends their gratitude to INHOPE and Save the Children Denmark for making this visit possible. Alongside the informative sessions, the visit was enriched by great company, delicious Danish pastries, and even a chance to visit Copenhagen’s iconic Little Mermaid statue—which was bigger than expected.
