On Thursday, 4 December 2025, the Safer Internet Forum brought together European institutions, NGOs, experts, educators, families, young people, and representatives from the technology sector to discuss risks, opportunities, and strategies for a safer online environment for children and adolescents.
Telefono Azzurro actively contributed to the discussion on “Why age matters: Protecting and empowering youth in the digital age”, sharing insights on how to ensure age-appropriate online experiences, safeguard children’s rights, and support schools, families, and communities.
Looking ahead, Telefono Azzurro is proud to organise two major events for Safer Internet Day 2026 on 9–10 February in Rome and Milan, providing a European platform to raise awareness on the impact of digital technologies and artificial intelligence on minors. Academics, institutions, tech companies, and experts will come together to discuss opportunities and risks, present exclusive data, and share concrete solutions to protect children and adolescents online.
The Forum and Safer Internet Day participation underscore Telefono Azzurro’s ongoing commitment to promoting a culture of digital safety and responsible internet use among young people, while fostering collaboration across Europe to safeguard the most vulnerable.
