INHOPE is pleased to announce Project SOAR, a new 18-month initiative funded by Safe Online to scale two of the network's most critical tools in the fight against child sexual abuse material (CSAM) online.
The project builds on INHOPE's existing infrastructure by expanding the Universal Classification Schema, the shared taxonomy hotlines use to classify CSAM consistently, through new training and at least 50,000 new case annotations. This will strengthen both human decision-making and the automated tools that help detect harmful material faster.
Project SOAR will also extend CPORT, INHOPE's secure collaboration platform connecting hotlines and law enforcement, by onboarding new law enforcement agencies in ten countries outside the European Union, with a focus on Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
Through regional training, upgraded technology, and closer international cooperation, Project SOAR aims to make CSAM classification more consistent worldwide, strengthen ties between hotlines and law enforcement, and speed up the removal of harmful content, bringing INHOPE's global network closer to a faster, more coordinated response to online child sexual abuse material.
