The story of 'James' was the theme behind the INHOPE Summit 2020:
23-year-old James in Paris stumbles across CSAM, horrified by what he sees and unsure of what to do, he is immediately worried he could get arrested.
James searches the web and finds the French hotline ‘Point de Contact’. Two minutes later, having filed a report, he feels a weight off his shoulders. 30 hours after James comes across CSAM, it is gone.

National and international telecommunications companies and internet, tech and other industry, a variety of global brands, as well as international LEAs and other stakeholders including tech specialists, policy experts, company leaders and decision makers, CSR and sustainable development leads.
In addition we encourage attendance from all those start-ups and all companies who have not yet explored how they can be part of the solution when it comes to eliminating online CSAM. You need to know how to protect your own systems as well as how to make the internet safer for all digital citizens.
The INHOPE Summit is an opportunity for more industry stakeholders to learn what INHOPE does, to partner with the INHOPE network of hotlines through corporate donations and Brand Ambassadorships that your companies and employees can be part of, to raise awareness of the issue and the ability to report CSAM.
You will learn how INHOPE supports its hotlines, provides a technological infrastructure, and advocates for change.
While we encourage all attendees to attend the two days of discussion we also want to highlight the importance of Day 1 as essential for those who are just starting companies or starting out in companies as technologists and new to the field, developers and product managers, to understand and learn more about CSAM and the impact they can have.
Since the first INHOPE Summit in 2018, INHOPE has seen unprecedented growth in the establishment of hotlines in Latin America and Asia.
Currently INHOPE has 46 members hotlines around the globe, ensuring that ‘James’ can report online CSAM in whatever country he is in, so that it can be removed and investigated.
INHOPE's Annual Summit
At our third annual INHOPE Summit was centered around how we all have a role in the fight against Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). We examined past cases, delivered industry presentations, provided technology demonstrations and discussed how to fight crime in the 21st Century.
During out second US Summit we highlighted how the INHOPE network of hotlines removes online images
and videos of an eight-year old girl named 'Emma'. We discussed the journey of a report, the steps that are taken by the INHOPE network, the role ICCAM plays in preventing revictimisation, and the role that businesses play in preventing online CSAM, technologies that combat online CSAM.
The first INHOPE Summit was a platform to raise awareness of issue of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) online, by understanding the demand of such content and the efforts to combat CSAM - highlighting the crucial role of INHOPE hotlines and the impact of ICCAM.
